- Okay, this is probobly a very simple problem, but I have a USR
- Sprtster 14.4 internal modem. I have it installed in the COM1 slot of
- a Compaq Prolinea 4/33. I have changed the port settings in the
- Windows control panel to 19200. I have changed my settings in all of
- my com packages to reflect the modem speed of 14.4. I cannot however,
- get it to connect at anything higher than 2400. I have done a MSD (I
- am using windows 3.1) and cannot get COM1 to set at anything higher
- than 2400. I know that the modem works, because I have had it
- installed on another computer that ran it perfectly at 14.4. Someone
- told me that Compaq uses a weird BIOS - is this true? I am using a
- PS2 mouse on an independent port, so there is no conflict there.....
